Home of Evangelist Sam Jones<\/p>\r\n

Cartersville, Georgia<\/p>\r\n

While living in Cartersville, GA, I exhibited at the Roselawn Art festival, which was held on the property of the home called, \u201cRoselawn\u201d.\u00a0 It was the home of\u00a0Samuel Porter Jones, (1847 – 1906),\u00a0who was a Methodist Evangelist, during the turn of the century.<\/p>\r\n

The home was originally a\u00a0one-story building, which was raised.\u00a0They added a third floor and a basement, which is what you see today.\u00a0 In 1973, the home was placed on the National Register of Historic Places and was the home to the local Historical Society.\u00a0 It is located at 244 W. Cherokee Avenue, Cartersville, Georgia 30120.<\/p>\r\n

During my second year at the Festival, I had finished the painting the night before, which would have been in 1984.<\/p>\r\n
