Since I attended the show for several years, I painted several local places.\u00a0 Of course, the first painting had to be the Courthouse.<\/p>\n<p>The Courthouse was unique, with 3 towers, the middle being the clock tower. Built in 1878, it was referred to as &#8220;The Grand Old Lady&#8221;.\u00a0 It was a combination of Romanesque and Georgian architectural styles.<\/p>\n<p>Now, retired from County Government, the building now houses the Historical Museum along with shops that attract tourists, shoppers and other visitors.<\/p>\n<p>Other Crown Point paintings are: <a href=\"https:\/\/larry-johnston.com\/?p=61\">Carnegie Library<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/larry-johnston.com\/?p=55\">Criminal Justice Building<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/larry-johnston.com\/?p=59\">Lake County Jail,<\/a> made famous by John Dillinger.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Lake County Courthouse, Crown Point, Indiana Among many of the art shows and festival I attended since 1978, one of many local shows took place on the lawn of the Lake County Courthouse in Crown Point, Indiana.
