Cartersville had several quaint places that I painted during that era, which included their train depot. It sat in the middle of the downtown shopping district, where all the activity was.\u00a0 The trains still came through the center of town on their way to somewhere, USA.\u00a0 The depot was no longer used for passengers.\u00a0 The brick design was duplicated in other towns, as I was told\u00a0that they used the same blueprint on all of the depots on that railroad line.<\/p>\n<p>The painting and prints were very popular with the locals as I had a set of four Cartersville landmarks, <a href=\"https:\/\/larry-johnston.com\/?p=77\">The 4-Way Lunch<\/a>, Train Depot, <a href=\"https:\/\/larry-johnston.com\/?p=71\">Roselawn<\/a>,<a href=\"https:\/\/larry-johnston.com\/?p=87\"> Ross Diner,<\/a> and of\u00a0course the<a href=\"https:\/\/larry-johnston.com\/?p=323\"> Euharlee Covered Bridge<\/a> which was a short distance west of town.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cartersville Train Depot Cartersville, \u00a0Georgia During the 1980&#8217;s, I traveled and exhibited in a number of shows in the Georgia area, including my home town at that time.
